Our week in Northumberland {Part 1}

March 12, 2017

We're back in Northumberland for the 4th year running, staying at the beautiful Slaley Hall set in 1000 acres of Northumbrian woodland and moorland.

One of our favourite counties, Northumberland is vast, beautiful and relatively little visited. There isn't a better place to unwind, spend some quality time with the family and relax!

It's an amazing feeling packing up and driving up the M6 knowing that we'll soon be waking up in Rob's parents lodge in Slaley, even thou we've had to leave Toby at home with my parents, it's nice to have a week of peace and quiet 🐶 without the pitter patter of little paws!

The lodges are set in idyllic lakeside and green settings providing the ideal wilderness retreat but with all the creature comforts you could wish for.

Our lodge for the week! 💚 it here!

We even get a golf buggy to drive to and from the Hall which has a whisky snug! More on that later!

We had a good walk around the grounds today it was great to get out in the sunshine and get some fresh air! We walked up to the road that takes you to Derwent Reservoir.

Northumberland is such a magical place and one of my favourite places to escape to in the UK.

While we're in Northumberland we will visit;

Keilder forest and its observatory

Wallington Hall, National Trust

Where are your favourite places to visit?

Blunty xx
