We both love our festivals, throw in food and drink, a few bands and the sunshine and you’ve got one perfect day out.
We visited last May bank holiday weekend and I can think of nothing better than packing up the car and heading off to Weston Park in Staffordshire to the Great British Food Festival. It was so warm and sunny so I couldn’t resist sharing these photos form my camera roll below.
I decided to enter the Cake Off competition which was free to enter and judged by Jane Beedle from The Great British Bake Off.
The theme for the Sunday was chocolate so I decided on baking a White chocolate, strawberry and prosecco cake. I will post the recipe on the blog this week.
It was incredibly hot and the frosting had started to melt a little.
The bakes where incredible, everyone went to so much effort!
Of course I instagrammed everything and you can watch my story highlights on my page including the trials and tribulations of getting to this point! You can watch my story highlights here just go to 'Bake off'.
Shortly after this I was lucky enough to win! I’d never of thought it! I had lovely comments from Jane on my bake which made my day!
After the cake off challenge, we head off around the festival to enjoy some food, drink and demonstrations.
It was great that we were able to take Toby with us to enjoy the bank holiday at the festival.
Such a lovely start to summer! Big thanks to the Great British Food Festival for gifting us tickets to the event.
They hold a range of food festivals across the country at various stately homes which make for an incredible setting. Find out more by visiting there page here.
